Why do the Rich French come to California and buy 100 year old Apartment buildings for the Working Poor making less than $50k/yr, and raise the apt rents over 10% every year, $250 instead of old owner $25/yr, when this rent gouging way beyond the Cost of Living Index has been ILLEGAL IN FRANCE since 2016?

These are not luxury apartments, new or built even in the last 30 years, full of rich Yuppies.

These are old neglected apartment buildings from 1900,1910, maybe 1940s. The toilets are original and starting to fail and be unrepairable. The gas ranges are so old the stoves barely work. The glaze is gone from the original very stained bathtub! These are old neglected, formerly affordable 1BRs at $500/mo in the 90s, now $2300/mo for the Working Poor making less than $50k/year!

Is it legal? Yes, the Peninsula defeated rent control with lies from payola Mayors working for the Realtors, not the Voters and their Constituents!

Is it moral? Of course not!
What does the French Catholic Church say about this behavior by French Citizens traveling on French Passports to rip-off and evict the very poorest of the Working Poor in relatively rich California? What about all the American blood of war/"sang de guerre" on and for French soil?
