Was just at San Mateo DMV office to just turn in medical exam paperwork during lunch break.
Guy came out the back door "no resy" line of over 50 folks,,, and said,
" We are going to lunch now."
All employees?
15 minutes later,,, a guy said,
" The DMV computer system went down."
Another 10 minutes and another un-badged employee came out to the end of the line ,on the sidewalk!,and said,
"Folks, we got the DMV system back up for just 5minutes, then it crashed again. We don't think it will come back up statewide today, but of it does, there are 100 people with reservations that we will help first.(no "sorry")"...
So I left.
"9a-5p on Wednesdays.
8a-5p on Thursdays..."
And Governor Brown is on TV telling us, again!, how unprepared we were for both the Paradise ,Butte, "camp" wildfire and the Ventura and LA "Woolsey" wildfire, the new Extreme and Non- normal. Over 240,000 homes evicted.
Where's the National Guard?
Will anyone, any news outlet hold Governor Jerry Brown accountable as our state elected Leader?
The DMV is broken, and must be hardware, software, employee, privatized FIXed ASAP! No excuses. No manana. No ignoring the Problem, Sacramento is so good at!!
We lack crisis warning systems and big enough immediate fire responses like huge cargo747s red flame retardant drops at first sign of a wildfire. And thinning brush yearly and generally. And statewide small Controlled Burns...
Hold the Governor accountable!?
Doubtful.
That is another "disaster".
