5th generation Californian blows off steam and comments on the last 50 year decline in quality of life, etc. in home state of California. Some good news hopefully.

Beware of Alaska Airlines telling you it is ok to bring bear spray in your checked bags
This happened to me ,even tho i confirmed it with Alaska Airlines management as being ok, yet when i got to the airport the TSA confiscated the safe $30 can from my checked bag !!
No apology and no refund from Alaska Airlines,,, typical.
