Think I've discovered a Revenge subculture in the VA/Veteran Administration after complaining a few times, so need a real Investigate Reporter do go further.

First visit to a VA clinic as a VietNam veteran, I was sexually assaulted by the MD.  Filed written formal complaint  and nothing was done.

As a veteran I complained about how hard it was to log-in to the VA website,  myhealthevet.com.
Guess lots of Veterans did as the website was remodeled.  But my password is no longer accepted so I can't use it.

I've had a credit for months the VA will not apply to my monthly bills.  I've called many times to PEP/patient experience program, very polite but no success. The VA just admitted failing to mail the credit check even tho I repeatedly asked it be applied as a credit to my VA Billings.

I asked Senator John's help,  the famous Vietnam prisoner veteran.  No response.

One of my test results came back probably tampered with.

Waited over 3hrs in ENT clinic in SF.

Had my ear wax painlessly picked out one month and very noisy, painfully, suctioned out the next.  Never again.

Colonoscopy is scheduled by my MD but SF Medical Center stubbornly insists on using a gallon of painful stomach cramps, salt water prep instead of "go lightly" prep used by most better MDs.

As a Commercial Professional Driver since 1976, Window and Windshield Visibilty are Super IMPORTANT!

Keep your inside glass clean and dry.  I use Costco terry hand towels and Windex.  NEVER EVER drive with foggy inside windows!, before your Defroster Heater clears the inside moisture! Or you terry towel... Never!

I have tried a few "Fog" inside liquids and gels,  tho none worked very well.  Maybe I didn't use enough gel... Especially on those big 4 pane up front Euro buses,  Know how hard it is to towel off the upper windows!? In a blizzard!?

On the Glass outside,  I would skip all the liquids and use a gel like Rain-x gel or my fav, RAIN CLEAR GEL by Glass Science. Amazon may carry soon. Look local, ask local or buy direct like I do for big bottle of Tecnu poison Ivy soap.

Use your teen, or hand,  and one of those 4" blue disc pads, or a
2 fold washcloth and a pea-bean size amount of gel, outside only, on a clean dry warm(run your heater and defroster for 10min) windshield, windows, and both outside rearview mirrors in a small circular expanding motion. You don't have to press hard if the glass is warm. Don't  use too much gel,  cuz next is terry handtowel buffing off the excess in circular motion. Your car glass should Sparkle! Do this every 3-6mo. Like NOW,  just before the big rains...

You have just improved your visibility over 30%!  And prevented hard water spots PERMANENTLY on your car windows.  Salt on the highway folks,  are you listening?

Next, wax your car's clean dry paint with a good wax like Macguire''s or Mother's monthly or at least seasonally,  by teen or by hand. Bird poo will eat thru paint! My Sis doesn't believe in car washing,  so guess who regularly washes her Prius?  Car Soap! I will add that name later.  So by regular teen waxing, you just saved $1000s in body shop paint jobs!  Woo-Hoo!

Next the rubber,  tire sidewalls  and window seals.  I went Crazy and tried every brand in local Kragen's. Like ArmorAll Original the best,  easy to spray on to apply,  lasts for almost a week,  and not greasy slimy. I buy a case,  4 gallons,  from Amazon, since Costco doesn't  carry the gallon&spraybottle combo anymore.

As with Rain Clear gel in a plastic zipbag with a permanent pen label,  I use a 2 folded washcloth on the window rubber and just spray the tire sidewalls weekly,  if I remimbar!

It has been a Dirty Air, smoggy week with blue sky overhead on the peninsula, but cola brown air looking horizontally to NBay and SBay and even West out on the Pacific Ocean.
There was a previous day that was Super Bad smoggy,  before the 106f record day in frisco.
I was there for the 3 days over 100f with one day at 104f, last Summer!  Very bizarre Wx.

The temperature has been daytime warmer than usual for this time of year.
It was 94f in Half Moon Bay!
And higher recordbreaker in Santa Cruz!
The coastal ocean NorCal fog came back thick on Friday morning.
And last night the temp was thankfully cold again on the peninsula with stronger ocean breezes.

Have not heard if all SFBayArea fires are out in NBay and Ben Lomond, near Scott's Valley and Santa Cruz. All those fires produced a terrible amount of smoke!
Oh,  TV says 3 fires still burning to north.

I hope this means people will remove brush by goat herds again and Much more often, cut down non-native super oily and flammable trees like the Gum/Eucalyptus, and cities and the state with CalTrans will cut down the Many dead pine trees besides the SFBayArea freeways.

And THURSDAY Rain Is forecast,  so all those trash litter clogged highway drain grates must be cleared and cleaned ASAP!

It's  not Saturday yet,  but just could help gushing about the 3 last days of light rains mostly at night, clean ocean light breezes,rinsed cities and streets,  great clouds, especially today with big vertical development and variety and some separation,  even a big bright rainbow on 101N behind SFO on SSF Hills looking N with the sun behind me. Lots of cars slowed to take it in. Unlike those Lookiloos with the minor accident  on the S end of the Airport!

thursday morn it rained some, so a guy said he was hydroplaning on 280 out of sf. 90% were still tailgating, in the rain,  and 10% were still speeding,  in the rain. A gal told me 17 from Santa Cruz to Silicon Valley looked like a Demolition Derby with all the FWD cars and others slipping sliding and spinning out,  leaving broken car parts all along both sides of that crowded scary highway.
The pm traffic on the Peninsula when the rain let up, was even worse of a slow commute!

it was been so smoggy, dirty Air blown up the coastline from the many SoCal fires,  I haven't posted.  Cool days and Cold nights on the Peninsula.  But when you look, not up, but out to the Pacific,  there is this thick, not usual tea smog, but dark coffee mocha Smog over the Ocean!
We have 7 straight days of health dangerous "save the air" days!
And no rain in sight, especially since "he" says there is no global warming...

ANOTHER V.A. medical practice that is too antiquated, not progressive, and just slows down the VA system too much: RNs are not allowed to talk to VETERAN patients about their test results, only MDs can!

First,  are there enough quality MDs in the VA for our VETERANS ?

Why are both the SF and Palo Alto VA Hospitals,etc. STILL using antiquated by decades and patient Painful pre -Colonoscopy prep of drinking a gallon of salt water that flushes you out,  but usually gives patients, especially  Veteran Patients!, Severe Painful stomach cramps? I tried it twice,  and had to bail out!
Just too damn painful!

Better,  more skilled MDs have used "Go Lightly" 2 pint prep for DECADES,  with Zero stomach cramps.

Another "dirty word" the car dealer may Not want to utter is "PORT INJECTED" instead of "DIRECT INJECTION" into the cylinder's combustion chamber where it belongs.  With old old port injection antiquated design the gas is sprayed into the hot intake manifold, a big heavy metal casting,  with the air from the radiator.  The gas-air mix gets too hot before reaching the combustion chamber and often burns up into caking carbon,  that a mechanic has to chisel off yearly like my old stylish but poor mechanical design Isuzu Impulse for a yearly "service" high fee!
Try to find "DIRECT injection",,,from now on,  afterwards(2017).

ENGINE FANS BY SHAFT:
Why do we still buy $20-40k New cars with engine shaft driven fans wasting over 10HP horse power, when it is so very easy to customize,as some smart people do, and take out that relic antiquated motor driven fan and have someone put in an ELECTRIC ENGINE FAN or 2 behind the radiator!?
So Smart.

Another is "ASPIRATED ENGINE" versus TURBO.  Go to a Ford dealer and test drive an "aspirated engine" that redline over-revs on every automatic transmission shift.  Then go somewhere and find a car similar,  but with a turbo and automatic  transmission.  Test drive that car and listen to see if you like the sound and performance Better when you Need to accelerate, like 2 lane passing or merging into a busy freeway. Try a turbo diesel and a hybrid electric. Wish fuel cell cars were reasonably purchasable instead of lease only! What was that car that one company hid and tried to secretly destroy? Boy,  the Saturn was a crudely done job,  half ass! But great no-dent non-metal side panels.

See a LOT of peeling and flaking CLEARCOAT PAINT.  They call it "2 Stage" or Color&Clear,  the powder color coat first and then one or better multiple layers of clear coat. More clearcoats the better,  to a point.
You didn't  ASK how many layers of clearcoat you just bought,  for $20,000 or $30,000 or $40k ?  Oh, you never wash your car, bird poop eats thru the paint in a couple months,  and you buy a new car every year!
Rare lucky you! I had an expensive body shop try to tell me once, "2 stage car paint has to be repainted by the entire hood or entire side,  just like lacquer. So this tiny patch paint job will cost over $1000." BS!  2 stage was designed for small patch jobs or large accident damage over a wide area; I use to work in an auto paint store,  just before the switch to 2 Stage, with foul lacquer fumes and lots of famous enamel/urethane/other paint types and brands. Not one of my fav 32flav jobs!

CHEAP ADVICE:
Definitely  recommend buying the CONSUMER REPORTS car buying issue in the Spring or Summer.

BIG SPENDERS:
If you can afford and want a high maintenance car, like a BMW or MB or Audi or Porsche,,,  with the very frequent and very overpriced service, always in the shop,  you can ignore my advice and enjoy wasting your own money.

August 2017: Do NOT use Visa!

COSTCO chose them, after expensive American Express' good service,  even tho I warned Costco about Visa!

1st, if you Ever have to cancel a lost Visa card,  be Sure to get the agents Name and I.D.#!
Because when you get home and get the bill to the still open Visa account!,  Visa may have played a common trick on you with, "That is not our employee or id #,so your account was never closed. "  A Visa mgr says Visa pulls this trick all the time on its customers.
Visa hires a USA nighttime Subcontractor in the past to answer such calls after normal biz hours; So just remind Visa of that, and tell your bank about more attempted Fraud. That should take care of that. AX would Never pull that stunt!

2nd experience , after the Costco-AX to Costco-Visa switch,  I used my Costco card alot, because I could trust AX and mostly Costco; Food is returnable then "not",then "is".  So I was humming along getting lots done at work and at home,  and I get this email, from Visa Fraud Protection,  "We just refused your last purchase an hour ago,  because it looks like fraud. "

So I cut way back on using Costco-Visa, just Costco gas and store entrance only. Use MC and AX.

3rd experience , I had a Samsung3 which was OK but no LTE,  so after being nagged for months by T-Mobile, which is so much better than Sprint and AT&T, with fast polite native techies, I bought a almost $800 Samsung7 with LTE.
It took all day to Reload!!
After 3wks I told T-Mobile it was Overheating and I often could not hold it.
"Sorry,  only 2wks to return for full refund. " Store mgr forgot to tell me that.
So I called Visa,  because I forgot to use my new MC.

"A clearly Defective Expensive over $700 smartphone? No worries.  We will get you a full refund and quick. "   Wow.
Then a week later I got a short letter basically saying, "You bought it so You are stuck with it. "  Yeah,  that's Visa. AX or Hawaiian Airlines MC would never do that. Never. Hawaiians are a very honorable people.

So I went to Best Buy and bought the "Phone of the Year" ,the ZTE AXON7 for only $340. And so much better than either Samsung! Lousy customer service,ZTE, but great smartphone.

What I do know,  is that medicine is a caring profession and an extremely lucrative business. My Japanese-American schoolmate was told by his real estate avaricious Mom he would be a doctor, dentist or lawyer, period.  He became a dentist and hates it!

I also KNOW that the AMA and the ADA rarely discipline and very rarely unlicense doctors that are incompetent or malicious or in violation of the Hypocratic Oath.  I KNOW,  one still practicing MD sexually assaulted me with racist contempt, Asian against Caucasian,at a VA clinic.  I KNOW one still practicing MD urologist and a major Ca. hospital tried to sterilize me during a bilateral hernia operation because I caused an abortion many years ago; I have the Doctor's signature on the original "vasectomy only" Surgical Orders for a bilateral hernia that the hospital pushed at me 3 times.
I KNOW I had a famous Orthopedic Surgeon tell me as I went under general anesthesia that his son just graduated a Medical School and would be (illegally) assisting and  operating on one other big toe bunion very badly.  Both doctors quickly went into hiding,  possibly fleeing to Canada.

When I was a teenager,  my chatty Mom's  bridge group discovered the new Willow Glen Dentist,  Dr. Peel,  was making a lot of 'cavities' by drilling holes in many patients perfectly good teeth.  His business dried up and he moved away,  possibly to harm other too-trusting patients. If you still trust all dentists and mercury in tiny amounts,  ask your dentist to remove a good amalgam filing for gold or ceramic.  "Removing a good amalgam filing would release too much mercury. And it is not allowed by the ADA,  as I could get in lots of trouble. "
Then why put mercury with silver in our teeth,  or lead in our house paint and car to airplane fuel still, or asbestos in our homes drywall and joint mud, or so many many untested farm chemicals that are probably making us all very sick?

My best friend just died in 3 months of cancer. Stanford is advertising "immunotherapy".
But expensive Kaiser health insurance only offered 3 courses of "chemo". That destroyed his bone marrow and immune system and as predicted gave him a serious infection.  What a waste!

Why do we allow business to pollute our ground water with fracking and our small streams with ancient mine runoff or farm runoff?  Do we have to live so risky for business and society to succeed?  Do we have to look away at the subverting of medicine, science and the CDC for profit? We still know so little and understand little to be running in the dark with sizzors.
And I don't think our politicians or health pros are completely honest with us for many reasons, besides profit.

Drug companies don't want to research for antibiotics as it is "too expensive, and too little profit".
Our Federal Govt  won't take on the task; MDs nowadays refuse to give antibiotics  to near death patients like me.  And we waste many antibiotics on too many dirty animal farms,  chickens pigs cattle etc., for profit.
So you see how profit alone becomes the primary goal of most or all medicine.
Maybe we should change to "Single Payer" like Canada and England,  before a major killer of billions of humans makes "profit" as trivial as it should be.
I think with fast global warming,  it is too late to stop billions of deaths,  and soon.

My last bill from the V.A. was "$42 credit,  $30 charges,  so you owe $30"!

It was bad enough being Birthday Lottery dragged kicking and screaming, out of a "2S" 4 year college with a better than 2.5GPA and an alcoholic abusive college advisor by that major quack President Nixon,  then to be major Sleep Deprived in the Navy for 2 endless boring years,  have cigarette by carton addiction pushed on me by the Navy, be exposed to a sailor with short time Fatal TB,  serve with mostly constantly jittery coffee drinkers all day and night long,  many who were big time Alcoholics,  barely High School graduates, many sailors in Service by Judge decree "or jail",  and had zero opportunity for PT/PE. Zero. Big time class structure problems in the Navy then versus "one team" in the ranks.

Veterans are treated lousy at the main SF Bay Area Hospital in Palo Alto. Very poor attitude.

The SF V.A. Hospital is littered and generally unclean.

Veterans in the Bay Area have paid over 10% RENT INCREASES for Years, just like all rental victims in CA. !

Why does it take Google, over 2 WEEKS, to answer a Google Account Customer's Request? This is LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE, Google!

I have long reviewed Google Map locations,  and am frequently asked to do much more, especially in my half-done neighborhood.

So when I was asked to improve my account,  I did not understand it was opening a second account and losing MY FIRST ACCOUNT access!
Why does Google do This?!?
And with no option to effectively CANCEL  the second DUPLICATE ACCOUNT!!

I have written "Help" and "Feedback " almost daily for 2 weeks,  with ZERO REPLY from Google.  Guess they do need those 10,000s new Employees!
Too much slacking and long free Co. multi-restaurant dining?

With Microsoft's history of nonexistent to lousy Customer Service,  it is amazing other ".com" Companies want to copy such a Bad Example.

Most SF tourist don't seem to know there is a FREE SF MASS TRANSIT map at almost every good hotel.

It shows all the MUNI BUS lines,  and the STREETCAR ROUTES, and the CABLE CAR ROUTES.
You don't  have to go Underground if you don't want to!; Enjoy the Views Above!!

hint: You do not need to get on at the end of the line,  say Market X Powell. A Very Long Line!
Instead, wait at Union Square,  as the cars do Not leave the Ends Full, because it is Not end to end service, but continuous service along the line for riders getting on and off,  Not just tourists.

2nd Hint:SENIORS pay attention and get your DISCOUNT.

3rd Hint: Unfortunately  ,exact change  is Requested,,, so buy a 1DAY PASS or 3DAY PASS or 7DAY PASS at the end terminals, Union Square,  or possibly Walgreen's.

2017 SF "tourist season" annual warning to all Tourist and first-timers about Neighborhoods and Streets to avoid in SF due to High Crime and lack of Adequate Policing!!

Also "South San Francisco" is not part of SF and is in a separate County.

There are many many affordable motels on the original main Peninsula boulevard "El Camino Real " (before Hwy 101 and 280 were built and commute traffic maxed out)and good public mass transit by bus,  Caltrain(my choice), or lousy BART.  or cheap UBER/safer LYFT taxi service.
If SF is too expensive.
Or too noisy and dirty for you.

Neighborhoods to AVOID,  day/nite:
1-S.E. Quarter of SF,  including 3rd St., Bayview and Hunter's Point. Basically Everything East of 101, and South of Mariposa .

2-the Tenderloin,  whether Frisco puts it on the map or not,  both sides of Market,  West of Union Square to Van Ness.

3-the Western Addition,  new and old "projects", South of Geary across from safer Japantown, West from Gough st. to Alamo Square almost.

4-Shooter's Alley and Bernal Heights,  North of Cow Palace and Geneva to the Mission District,  West of highway 101.

5-the Burger King on Market X Grove.  3 people were recently shot on the sidewalk.  Never enough walking cops!

Google Maps should be brave enough to warn tourists and the general public visiting on business of historic, locally well know Bad Dangerous Unsafe likely to see or hear a shooting,  neighborhoods. 

Like Richmond city and East Palo Alto city.
Eastside,  San Jose.
Lower / West Oakland.
But they don't.

Ever since the 1980s, I have been fed up with the rude selfish impatient dangerous drivers waiting on SF streets to get on the Bay Bridge! Something must be done!

Maybe mandatory spacing like the English.
But since originally there were 2 sets of commuter train tracks on the Bay Bridge,  i propose using 3 of the reverse commute lanes, leaving 2. Not enough?

Maybe making both levels commute direction only,  as the Bay Bridge is the most heavily used bridge in the Bay Area.
This would be relatively cheap and easy to do,  versus building a second bridge just South.
So from 6-9am and 3-6pm both levels would be one way. M-F.

BART is not helping enough.
Neither is Caltrain south to Silicon Valley and Gilroy.

Many more passenger ferries is another idea.  Maybe fast air ride craft,  like on the English Channel.

But SOMETHING must be done!
Too many streets in SF are gridlocked by Bay Bridge commute approaches!

Most Men do not wash their hands after using a Restaurant or Bar's restroom!

This is not just a "Personal Hygiene " problem!

KQED certainly has the Cash cache in the Frisco Bay Area of 8 million. But has it earned the pre-eminent $ position? How "public" has the massive fund raising hot air machine been at self promotion and public benefit?

First,  the little people love being on TV asking Others to give up their hard earned,very costly area, little or lots money.
Save the Bay needs to do the same.

There is no way KQED can compare to the super show productive WGBH,  etc. especially in the early years.
Why has KQED been so uncreative and unproductive historically?

And by KQED's own "History" admission,  they were very busy buying and selling studios and frequently moving in the early days. But at a profit or loss with all that pubic funding? And why so many studios? It's not well explained.

The most shameful event was the cancelling of "newsroom", an innovative open discussion by smart experienced reporters at a round-table,  that unfortunately some slimey oil company did not Sac. payola like.  That was definitely a cancellation Not in the public interest.  Sacramento is still smeared by way too much payola and the new "newsroom" is a tepid quarter-hearted attempt at best.

Then there is the issue of public TV cannibalism where KQED buys the smaller but competing Peninsula public TV channel and certainly it has been shown not for that station's or the area's benefit.  Cannibalism, or "mergers and acquisitions" that reduce competition and disserve the public, are you For or Against?

What is the "public TV" balance sheet?

I probably delete 5-10 Bogus Clearly Fake and Fraudulent emails Every DAY!
Outlook's polite "Support" and "Feedback" staff politely say "sorry we can't fix that either. "

Seemed like 3 sides of the box.
So took Napa town 128E on miles of narrow winding country road.
Took forever!

And did have to take group to hell and back after the Napa Wine Tour.
Decision: Reservoir Berryessa is just too dam far and difficult to get to!

So went back to Google Map.
Frisco to S.Cruz run.
In pm commute,  Friday,  2p-8p.
G. Map said "either 280S, lots of accidents,  or 101S, lots of accidents."
So I took Hwy1, on the coast.
Not much traffic,  no accidents,  Great Scenery,  and no chps so good fast time.

Found today, by opening SPAM folder, I had hundreds,,, thousands,,,!!,,, of Saved SPAM by Microsoft Hotmail Outlook,
that i do Not want Saved !!

So why is Microsoft so Keen on saving everybody's SPAM ???

I am so disappointed with the Greed, Ignorance, Defensiveness, and Same Old Same of Western Medicine.

Your medical records are the property of every doctor in every State you ever visited.
The efficacy and obvious Right of every paying or free care patient to their medical records is still strongly fought.

Next, even the worst doctors or dentists are equally protected.
The AMA and ADA refuse to change in spite of overwhelming evidence of the benefit to change.
I have had 2 Kaiser orthopedic surgeons lie, "second opinion", that I only tore my quad, instead of a complete separation, to save the liable medical insurance cost of a simple operation. I had a famous SJ podiatrist allow his medical school graduate-only son to illegally operate while I was under general anesthesia and botch one of the 2 bunion simple surgeries.
I had a zealot Dr. Emmott sign "vasectomy" only orders for bilateral hernia repair and Mills Peninsula pushed the clearly wrong Surgical Orders ,"oh, found the correct one!", as a lie 3 times. I could go on and on.
Like Dr. Peel in Willow Glen who drilled holes in good teeth to make cavities, back in the 1950s and 60s.

There are way too many risky expensive unnecessary cesarian surgeries because doctors don't like waiting.
And they don't have the basic midwife skill to turn babies in the womb.
So my Mom's only Sis had a pinched umbilical cord in delivery and was an EMR expensive "child" her entire long almost 80 years life.

Cancer was ,according to Ken Burn's documentary, treated with Chemo therapy because of a WW2 germ warfare wacko, not good science and good medical research. Radiation therapy was also a black bag grab because of an aggressive uranium salesman. And sawbones scary radical surgery has still not gone away.
Even with PRP.
The public has given way too much money to breast cancer research where it was quickly wasted and spent on lavish lifestyles of MDs.

Why is medical research so,,, slow,,, to progress?
I know a Einstein-like genius PhD. who suddenly quit all medicine when she found out her brilliant treatment research would not be used, ever, for the deadliest microbes.

Why is a computer knowledge base so anathema when I have had docs pull out a huge PDR book right in front of me.

Why are referrals to Specialists so hard to get !?
To save money when expensive paid insurers should be getting full best medical care?
My 99 year old ,great genes and healthy, Mom can't even see a Kaiser dermatologist for 2 dark brown toenail fungus problems, for years. Tight gatekeeper PCPs reduce medical insurance cost and increase profits.

Why can the simplest treatments be so quickly forgotten and ignored.
Got poison oak rash my whole life. Once so bad the GP doc insisted ,when I came out of 2 week bedroom hiding, on a 3 day effective cortisone shot.
In the 60s Tecnu soap was invented by the military to wash off WW3 nuclear fallout and it works great washing off all 3 poison oak, ivy ,and sumac sticky oil in the first 24hrs; but many docs and even famous Dermatologists don't know about it.
