Only 18.4c for Federal Gas Tax, when we in California are paying $3-6. Why not raise it to $1 at least and keep that profit from the Oil Industry and put it to use repairing our Crumbling USA infrastructure ?!?

Our national infrastructure is getting worse and worse, and we are paying more and more in $B is subsidies and kid-glove treatment for environmental damage from oil spills and much higher prices at the pumps.

I would MUCH RATHER PAY INTO THE FEDERAL GAS TAX FUND than excess profit line the oil company executive pockets !
And i think most Americans would agree, that when you have to pay $4 or $5 or $6 here in California, instead of $3, why not have at least $1 of that go to much needed repair budgets?

We will pay now, with small increases in taxes, or later in MUCH LARGER TAXES AND WORSE ROADS.

I say, kick Congress in the lazy ass, and act responsibly NOW !!

I don't want to be more like Mexico, but as good or better than Canada,,, and we are wasting the time value of money by all this decade after decade delay.

Think how healthy the SSN budget would be now if a tax ceiling of just $111,xxx was never allowed !?  Crazy how short-sighted Congress has been.

For years. One house is vacant and one is occupied, and both are owned by the same jerk.  Look at all the other well cared for houses and yards on the one block street, and then these two eyesores!!  Shocking that San Jose can not enforce the city's Codes.  


You call the highly paid civil servants in San Jose's Code Enforcement Department, and you get an 'i don't care attitude, i am too busy doing nothing at my desk, and i will lie to you and support the violators vs enforce the Code, my job' attitude.  Yep, straight out lies to neighbors, city voters !!


Check out 2570 Gerald Way around the block from DeLynn, and they new owner has been parking , illegally against the City Code , again, for months on his lawn, weeds , or dirt.  Illegal.  Code Enforcement staff says , 'yes we have been by there , and yes it is a clear violation, but no we are not doing much about it.' San Jose's reputation for getting anything done is in the toilet !!


What about the neighbor's property values?  What about just ENFORCING THE CITY LAW AND ORDINANCES !  What about 'city-beautification' ,,, 
Ha!  Just lip-service b.s. from do-little politicians,,, again,,,The west side of hwy 101 is MUCH SAFER than the Eastside, but for how much longer, when the police are so,,,  no show,,, no go,,, unavailable to do their jobs?


Mid-block on Gerald Way there is an illegal business, Mexican-american, of a cleaning service with illegally parked cars for the business of people that do not live there.  Again , another clear City Code violation, yes that the San Jose City Code Enforcement Department is well aware of, because of all the neighbor's complaints.  It is one thing to have too many people living legally in an ugly two story house, but for the City to allow Mexican-americans to violate the Code because of race-nationality, probably, is just plain wrong !!


Next door is an illegally parked RV that has not moved for years.  It is inoperable, and thus illegal.  San Jose City Code Enforcement staff has the dishonor to bold face lie that 'i went out there and had the owner move it, so it does run, is not Inoperable, and thus legal."   If you look at the wheel wells of the RV and all the cobwebs, you can see for yourself the RV has not moved in years.


Go over to Hauck, about a mile south, and there were 2 DISASSEMBLED CARS IN A FRONT DRIVEWAY,,, FOR YEARS!! ,,, UP UNTIL JUST A MONTH AGO.  Because of the neighbor's complaining.
NOT because of the City of San Jose employees, overpaid and over-pensioned for way way way too long, are doing their jobs well or even adequately.


Why do we have such low standards for the work of well paid city employees and civil servants?!!  I am mad-as-hell about it and from the recent votes in San Diego and San Jose, the public will not stand for the SJPD police taking one of the highest salaries and pensions in the nation and under-performing shamefully for it !! Neither the police or fire being allowed to illegally claim full or partial disability and full pension, when the City can not afford it for decades and has been foolishly passing this cost onto the debt of some distant future generations, instead of having a positive balance and surplus fund and highest credit rating,AAA, unlike the nation's lowered credit rating, that thanks to the Republicans is COSTING ALL OF US MORE TO BORROW AT A HIGHER INTEREST RATE BECAUSE OF POORER LOWER CREDIT SCORE !!


Hopefully the Nation will wake up and vote out all malingering obstructionist anarchist Republicans who ,with their 'no' debt limit votes and unconstructive 'our way or no way' posturing instead of helping the USA, are directly responsible for the economic crisis President Bush43 left us in in 2008. Remember how horrible those 8 years were?  Most of us have such short memories and are so impatient. Forget the usual evening news sedative whitewash,,, the only 'official' San Jose weather station is at the airport, not that anyone LIVES THERE,,, it is mostly flat and getting more of the cooling SFBay breezes.  


No wonder our weather 'reports' seem BOGUS,accurate maybe technically, but misleading, by their cherry picking locations !!


SF's only 'official' weather station is on the warmer side, east side of Twin Peaks in the middle of the City, not the great Foggy cooling N.side by the Golden Gate Bridge,,, nor the very residential W. side of the city, the Sunset and Richmond, and Sea Cliff for the ancient and nuevo riche. SF can have a HUGE RANGE OF WX, but you probably wont hear that on the tv evening news !!


Whatever happened to the "comfort index" including temp., humidity, smog dirty air quality, wind, and dust storms??  Daily forecast high temperature is such a short change and inaccurate description of the range of possible real local weather !!  We have had "spare the air" dangerous dirty air days already.  Does the usual tv wx info. of the "forecast daily high temperatures" tell anything about that !?


As i said, lying white-washing sedative tv news,,, especially the wx, from the talking heads, pretty puppets !!

"JOHN CARTER" , the movie, was panned by Critics,, but i Netflix rented the DVD and ,,, REALLY LIKED IT !! Watched it twice for the next 3 nights for a total of 6 times !!

2012 Presidential Election coming up and i hope college students realize their power, the Collegiate Crusade, to save their own American futures and vote only Democrats in to office

It isn't just college loan debt that college students, and their parents, have to worry about. It is finding a job, a good paying job here in the US, or any job here!, after graduation. If you think the Republicans care one bit about your lousy job prospects and America's plight, you can vote Republican.


But if we get more years,2 or 4, of stubborn obstructionism and threats to debt limit crash our federal government, don't expect much sympathy when you could have all voted your own best interests and voted a straight Democrat ballot.  Not that i am so impressed with the Democrats, but we don't have a viable 3rd party like other advanced Western European countries.  Most must realize that it was frustration, but a mistake to vote in so many 'do-nothing' but damage Republicans in 2008.  Do you really think the Republicans will ever bring back Glass-Stegall to make our banking system much more safe!?


This year there is a clear choice in direction, and women and the elderly and especially the unemployed,,, and college students can be the silent tsunami of votes that close the door on more wasted time in Congress, wasted subsidies, and wasted opportunity to do something constructive, besides continue tax breaks for the rich and powerful that don't need them !  If you want to go back to the last Republican President Bush with a low 22% approval rating, you can destroy the country with your votes.  If you want to get rid of all medical insurance cost control attempts by the Fed and go back to the Middle Ages socially, where if you have the money you get the medicine, you can vote Republican. 


If you want our infrastructure of roads and bridges and sewers to continue to fail, and explode like the gas line in San Bruno, ignoring the massive deterioration and neglected repair nationwide for more decades, you can vote Republican,,, and hit more potholes and pay for more tires and steering alignment bills. If you believe you only work, if you can find a job that has not been subsidized to ship it overseas!, so your boss can get richer and richer and Wall Street stockbrokers can get $M bonuses,,,and your fair pay and benefits don't matter, you can vote Republican.  If you think this current 'Great Recession' does not matter or effect you and you don't care about your fellow born-in-the-USA Americans, you can vote Republican.


If you have dual citizenship or are here on a green card and never planned on retiring here anyway, but in some other country you feel more loyal to than the USA, you can vote Republican.  If you feel it is not your responsibility to pay taxes, but that is for some other poor dumb uneducated fool to get stuck with your share, you can vote Republican. If you don't value women and how hard it is for them to get pregnant with all these rubber stamp approved pesticides and 80,000 dangerous chemicals in our environment, you can vote Republican.  If you agree with our former Governor of California that it is not any government's responsibility, city county state or federal, to take care of the mentally ill and they can just walk the streets of America, you can vote Republican.


If you really want things to get much much worse in the USA, you can vote Republican.  My parents survived the Great Depression where my Dad and his sister had to be given to relatives to be feed clothed and sheltered because Bank of America took away with foreclosure their peach farm and family home,,, and survived the Second World War, so yeah, we might survive worse financial and economic and social conditions than we have now, but are you that sadistic-masochistic  to vote for any Republican?


i hope on election day, the elderly and women and the unemployed and the underemployed and college students especially all realize their enormous power, more than any amount of money!, the power of the Vote!  We all need to get along and work together if the USA is to be saved.  God bless us ALL !

What is all the fuss about the Secret Service and prostitutes? From Vietnam Navy 1970 service experience, the average enlisted has a smoking addiction habit or chews, drinks way too much coffee so can't sleep a healthy 7-8hrs, drinks way too much or is an alcoholic like my QMC and QM1, and considers prostitutes a 'port of call' priority and necessity.

I have saved $100s and $1000s by using window sealants , like Rain-x gel or Rain Clear Gel(*) on the outsides of my car windows and rear view mirrors. If you have a new car, do not delay and use a glass sealant immediately!!  Otherwise your car's resale value will be seriously damaged. Seeing in the rain is greatly improved and wipers last longer! Car window hard water spots are almost impossible to eliminate at the many car detailers i have tried. Also A-MAZ Ultra Gloss Sealant on a SHOWER ENCLOSURE and the hard water stain $$$$$- cleaned like-new HOUSE WINDOWS,,, to prevent further UGLY water spots and more very expensive cleaning bills!  Some window cleaners use chemicals and mild acids like muriatic and others use small electric sanders and a soapy water solution.  Can you imagine having your windows cleaned yearly when you could have had the window glass sealed!? I have two neighbors who have paid $$$$$ to have all house windows REPLACED by contractors!  Not all of us are so rich,,,


If Martha does not know about glass sealants or want to tell us about glass sealants to keep from paying to clean HARD WATER SPOTS damaged car windows and house windows and glass shower enclosures, year after year,,, oh, well.

CSAA-AAA should be leading the charge to get modern air pump guages with pre-set tire pressure at ALL CALIFORNIA and ALL USA gas stations !!

I was at a Shell station in San Jose, Meridian x Hamilton, and they charged $1 to use the antiquated and difficult in day or dark, pop-up guage. Why not have a dial or number keypad buttons on the box so you can set the tire pressure and it fills to only that pressure? They have air stations, so why not one that is modern and useful!? 


I know the gas stations tried to do away with air and water hoses not that long ago, Thank Goodness for some Regulation.


California and the USA could and should be doing so much better, on so many fronts.

Will ALL American Olympian Athletes sign a pledge not to smoke , before the 2010 London Olympic Games?

I was so shocked to see so many of the 'professional' ice skaters on the American touring ice skating show smoke cigarettes on the street in front of their hotels and behind the skating arena bleachers!!  Why do they put up with an addiction that reduces their skating athletic performance and life!?  Just shocking. Can't they get help?


It is not my job or desire to 'out' these famous wealthy American and International athletes, in ice skating or any other sport.  They should quit for their own health and maybe their good example.  But when it comes to taxpayer supported teams ,like the U.S. Olympic Teams, i think it is perfectly fine for the American paying public to insist on certain health standards, like no illegal drugs and no plots to break another skater's legs!


I have seen official Olympic Coaches smoke cigarettes in front of junior U.S. Olympic athletes!!  How can the USOC and the IOC allow this!?   Smoking in front of students is not allowed for teachers at public schools,is it?,,, so then why do we have such a much lower standard for our professional and amateur athletes, especially U.S. Olympic athletes?


I was at the 2002 SLC/Salt Lake City Olympics and am very aware of Mitt Romney being the 'leader' and the transportation sub-contractor cheating all the hundreds of bus drivers hired for this major national event, by promising them $18 and then only paying $9/hr. and working them a very unsafe and federally illegal 20hrs/day, from 6am-2am, day after day. We had been 'promised' no more than a 12hr work day. There was the bribery scandal with Salt Lake City and the new freeway fiasco.  And the 'only 2ft of snow at 7000ft' can't talk about lousy winter snow fall, media blackout,,,


All American athletes participating in the London 2012 Olympic Games should promise to immediately quit and career term abstain from the massive health and performance destruction of smoking cigarettes or cigars or any nicotine substance!  Not just as good examples as American Olympic Athletes, but for their own bad addiction-elimination health.

Year 2012 and the sorry state of American Hospital Medical business practices,,,

In the USA,,, and inside California, my sister recently fell on a concrete sidewalk and broke one tiny cheekbone and  cracked one tiny bone in her wrist and 3 tiny cracks in her pelvis.  But because of the Santa Clara County's trauma rules of any 3 injuries and age of near or at 65(shock?), she was double treated at two hospitals and double billed by each for duplicate x-rays and duplicate CAT scans!!   Not for valid health or medical reasons, but just Capitalist profit-taking opportunistic behavior in American Hospitals, because they can, and the Feds wont stop them!!


CAT scans are $5000 each, and a few were done and then re-done at both hospitals!!  There was no radiation monitor/'rad.badge' placed on my sister, the patient, at any of the 3 hospitals she had to go to in the end, because the Silicon Valley county and AMA rules do not require it!!  Remember, this all happened not out in the wilds and uneducated woods of West Virginia or Wyoming or Texas or Mississippi, but here, right here, in California!! 


The medical insurance company is for months refusing to pay both hospitals for redundant , duplicated, unnecessary and EXPENSIVE tests like CAT scans and many many too many x-rays regardless of the max. rads/yr. dosage. Who knows how long this fight will last. And the sickest part of the whole experience?  Both hospitals in the South Bay are owned by the same Corporation! And the second hospital said 'we don't trust the first hospital to do proper x-rays or CAT scans or even Radiologist read them!"


Such is the too expensive, too many unnecessary tests, SICK state of American Medicine, year 2012.

Mrs. Kelly Ripa of "Live with Kelly" tv show proudly boasted that SHE SNEAKS OUT OF BED FROM HER HANDSOME HUSBAND ALL THE TIME. Is this relationship healthy, even tho lots of women do it? What does Dr. Drew and Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil and The Doctors and The View all think about this?

Do most or the vast majority of women do this, in spite of what they say on magazine surveys, because of the husband/lover/guy they 'say' they 'love' who has messy hair(guilty) or bad breath(guilty) or smelly underarms(guilty) or grey hair(guilty) or old ugly t-shirt(guilty),,, or because of themselves, with poor self images which is so common with most women and most beautiful women, or their own bad breath vanity, or their massive fear of leading or starting or fully participating in (morning) or any intimacy? So now i keep breath mints,etc. bedside.


i have had over 40 relationships and not one wanted to snuggle in the morning, in spite of what they tell their girlfriends, or even say "good morning,dear!" before going to the bathroom to urgently pee or whatever.  Not one.  That says volumes about American women in bed.
Are women power-tripping in relationships, in a self and mutually defeating way, like the very common silent dead cow posture most women choose for the first intimacy, and then harshly judge the male or partner for performance in doing it all!  And complain to their girlfriends how lousy the sex was , because "he did not know what he was doing!"  American women are such a mess and headtrip!!


If both partners agree in advance that he is 'not to be disturbed' in the morning, that is one thing, but most American women don't discuss much sexually, very little, other than with their girlfriends, which is a poor substitute for discussing it with your sexual partner!  What we have here is the very common American woman practice of men waking up , morning after morning, to empty beds, with their wives or lovers in the shower or already dressed and in the kitchen. So why are women and American woman so afraid of morning sex or morning intimacy or even a morning "Good Morning, lover/husband/dear/sweetie!" ???


Let's hear from Hoda and Kathy Lee!  Is this what Frank Gifford wants?  I doubt this is Mr. Kelly Ripa's preference, to have his wife 'sneak' out of bed regularly to avoid any and all wake-up contact.  Is this what Mr. Frank Gifford wants?  Do women even care what their husbands or partners want, or is this commitment more of a one way, their way street to most women?  I doubt the lovely Samantha and Mrs.Meridith on the Today Show do this to their partners.  American marriage, what a strange,littered with failure, trip!!


When you hear any American woman complain about the lack of sex or intimacy or closeness or even friendship in their marriage or intimate relationship, look no further for the blame than most women, in spite of what they say about themselves in dishonest magazine surveys, who don't lead in bed and don't even ask or tell what they want in bed, and now this subject of most women in have know intentionally sneaking out of bed to avoid any and all contact with their partners.


When will American women grow up?
When will they finally demand equal pay for equal work and get the needed Constitutional Amendment? When will they stop 'bait and switch' getting free drinks from men at bars and then sneaking out the back door?  When will most women fully and equally participate in the bedroom, by telling asking talking moving, showing emotion and feeling emotion, even occasionally leading? When will they stop marrying perfect rich total strangers for the money and lifestyle and then divorce them years and children down the road for being treated like domestics? When will most American women admit they are lousy drivers and take driving school classes!?  When!

I talked to a very professional looking UPS driver the other day in San Jose, Silicon Valley and asked "Do the managers in the 3 piece suits and fat salaries still occasionally have the loaders toss the packages all over in back ,instead of the proper 'rough sort'?"


Yes, he said, and we still have to drive the package delivery truck off the UPS property to unload, sort and reload it, even tho we are unionized and Teamsters.  i go to my friend's house, with a big safe backyard, but it is such a hassle! as we still have to deliver everything 'on time'.


UPS is such a big profitable American company, yet even the Teamsters Union and the Feds can not stop this counter productive ,common EMPLOYEE ABUSE!

Just NUTS!!

Our looks like new QUISINART "electronic cool touch" toaster's white plastic "made in china" cover cracked around the top,,, and then MELTED around the opening toasting bagels !!

Quisinart only has a 3 year warranty. We have the owner's manual, but can not find the receipt usually attached. Lucky we purchased it at COSTCO and they have receipt computer records and 'satisfaction guaranteed' return policy !! on all but food items.


Still, a QUISINART toaster white plastic cover MELTING around the top!?  Who can you trust!?

What actually happens when an Apple store, in California their home state not Canada or Mexico or some 3rd world country, learns that they sold you a DEFECTIVE Apple computer? Silence.

I don't care what Apple SAYS should happen when a long time Apple customer is told by an Apple Store technician that his almost new Apple MacBook dual-core laptop is "defective" and has "factory corroded RAM terminals, very badly corroded".  I am talking about, you Apple shareholders and customers, what actually happened to me, a decades long purchaser of Apple products!  


I was told to get more RAM memory, so i bought some long green RAM circuit boards on the web. Then i made an appointment with a California Apple Store to install them, as i had been advised, and took my new dual-core MacBook in.  I had recently given my old single-core MacBook to my little sister.


The technician came out and told me i had "a lot of corrosion on the mounts for the RAM, in taking out the factory-installed RAM circuit boards".  I told him i had never had it opened before,it was so new, and it had not even been in the rain. I asked what Apple was going to do about all that from a China factory corrosion,,, and he said not to worry about it, if it still worked.  He installed my new net-purchased RAM long green cards.


When  i got home i decided to call Apple Corporate Headquarters, down the road in Silicon Valley at the south end of SFBay.  I talked to a woman and ,tho i was shocked and upset by the irresponsibility of what just happened, i calmly and politely explained that an Apple Store technician had just discovered "lots of corrosion under the factory installed RAM cards" in my new dual-core MacBook.  Silence.  A long silence.  So i asked straight out, "What is Apple going to do about this defective computer, your own staff says is defective from your Apple factory?"


Silence.  What if the Apple technician had not even told me about the Apple factory RAM corrosion?  What if it happens all the time, and technicians are told not to tell Apple customers about it?  A big rich successful company like Apple, with Billions in cash not going to shareholders or hiring more unemployed American workers, with 'silence' as an actual company response to their own defective products,,,
is shocking!
