Caltrain is a huge expensive now-quality system that is in budget trouble, so you might thiink they would be interested in making more money and providing a very valuable public transit service, like a special LOCAL TRAIN TO ALL STATIONS THAT WILL GET TO S.F. WELL BEFORE 6AM ,,,SO WE CAN WALK OVER A MILE TO THE START,,, AND ENJOY THE PRE-RACE PARTY,,,LIKE A BIG BIG BIG TRAIN, ONE, WITH ARRIVAL AT LIKE 5AM IN S.F.
But ,,, no ,,, we have to put up with old original bad-caltrain thinking ,,, remember the ORANGE upholstery, dirty tinted windows , and rude unhappy unsmiling conductors in the late 80s and early 90s?
As i said back then, a high school student could run CALTRAIN better than the mgmt we got now !! Stupid,,,stupid ,,, stup-id . Period.
It costs $9 round-trip for a 2 zone trip from San Mateo County to SF. I am willing to pay double, $20, for a special early train!! But 'no', CalTrain is not interested to one wise timed train vs 4 poorly scheduled late trains. At this rate the SFBayArea will never be Leadership and Organized ready for a major event like the Olympics.
It is like BART;With all this birthplace of the computer smarts and riches you would think we could make a transit system equal to or better than a Japanese off-the- shelf bullet train,,, but 'no'. Skill at one thing and its wealth do not favor success at most things.
