Does anybody know?
Why won't they tell us?
Do they not have a plan?
It feels like we are all in the same vehicle and the driver wont tell us where we are going. Ever. "Are we there yet!?" Without a 'there', where is the USA going?
If you watch the P.M.Questions tv show about the British party in power, they get asked all the time about how well they are doing in programs and policies and plans for the future. They seem to talk about where they collectively have decided and voted to go as a Nation. But here in the USA we have no national Democrat Party design on how the future will look even 4 years down the road, let alone 20 and 50 years down some road... The British government talks frequently and publicly about the country's future plans, goals and progress. The USA does not. Why!?
Ah yes the Republican Party has a plan and design and goal: to untax the very rich corporations and individuals, which is as irrational and ludicrous and traitorous as it sounds. They have already seriously damaged this Nation with their Congress obstruction, debt ceiling delay, and loss of credit rating in this Nation's first time in history from AAA to AA, terrorism and corruption. No wonder and thank God most Americans saw them for what they are: anarchists who push deregulation(no enforced laws, no real rules) that ruined California financially by "Enron" and plutocrats who believe the very rich people and corporations should rule but not pay, even their fair share. Such insanity did not sell in this 2012 year's election, every if $2Billion was spent!
So why is the national media so unconcerned that we as a Nation are adrift, the public not knowing clearly where we are being led? Why is this not a very important topic of conversation, not for just one issue of too thin "Time", but a long national discussion that results in clear plans and goals and a clear picture of the future? Instead we are treated like children or idiots i an asylum with infotainment and the constant chatter about what already happened, regardless of where we are going as a Nation! Amazing.
This huge and powerful Nation of the USA does not want to discuss , at least the ruling Democrat Party does not want to discuss, what their plans are for this Nation's future. "Just sit back and leave the driving to us" scares the crap out of me,,, with continuing wars all over the globe, jobs down until the voters spoke being tax-break sent out of California, politicians telling us for decades we are losing our manufacturing base and service jobs for the middle class and doing little or nothing to stop it. The future for the USA must be pure terror for those smart youth in high schools and colleges who see and understand how nothing is certain if those in power do not tell you clearly what their grand design is. There is no future for the USA if those in power are unwilling to explain it. Terrifying, yes?
This is the perfect opportunity for the Green Party to restate in full its plans and goals and designs of how the USA would look in 4 to 10 to 50 years. I hope they take it! Being a Nation adrift is like the popular movie with the lifeboat and the bengal tiger.
So why are so many newspapers and magazines unwilling to start this discussion if Sacramento and Washington,D.C. prefer to stay behind closed doors and as little business as usual? Do they not have smart people with rational decision making skills and dreams? Do they not think the public would like to know something as important as what the USA will look like and be like in 20-50 years?
The silence here is monumental on this issue.
